Steve and I hope this communication finds you and your families well! It is that time of year to begin renewing your memberships at Lake Freedom. Great News....In the midst of a world going just a bit crazy, we are keeping our membership pricing the same for 2023. That's right - No Price Increases! So, not only does the fishing experience bring you pease, we are do nthe same for your wallet.
Our membership remains near full capacity. If you are already a member; your membership is automatially reserved. If you choose not to renew and want to rejoin later, you may find you have to be added to the wait list to re-join.
Existing members will recieve an email or U.S. Postal mail to include your invoice and Lake documentation such as Liability Waiver Form, Membership Renewal Form in case you wish to adjust your membership, and updated Lake Rules.
Updates and changes If you haven’t visited recently, we continue to work on shore lines for land-based fishing. We added another 25 foot pontoon fishing platform accessible from the main peninsula. We have 15 active boats; quantity 13 - two seat boats, and quantity (2) – four seat boats. Please be sure to “pre-register” four seat boats with Steve at 937-688-0186.
Hopefully you’ve also noticed we replaced the stairs leading to the Lake’s rental boats. We successfully added stabilizer handles on all of the public docks. This will help you enter and exit the boats more safely and comfortably.
It remains about the fishing and the experience In 2022 we added nearly $40,000 worth of fish. To give you some sense we added close to 4000 pounds of feeder fish like minnows, shiners, and bluegill. In addition, we continued mixing gene pools by adding 900 pounds of largemouth bass, and 1000 pounds of 5-8 pound trout. We are hoping to place some focus on feeder fish variety, small mouth, and crappie in 2023! We hope to include bullfrog tadpoles again this year. We have seen very healthy fish, growing fish, and heavy reproduction – all things we have been working for.
Our end goal remains that of offering record catching experiences in relative privacy without the commotion of ski boats, power boats and other noisy wave generating interruptions; leaving you to enjoy our resident eagle, amazing sunrises, sunsets and a pristine property to bring others to share the experience with you. Some great comradery and great fishing stories are encouraged as well.
